Dr. Thomas Gustafson
Optometrist - Owner
Dr. Thomas Gustafson graduated Magna Cum Laude from Michigan College of Optometry in 1989. He was elected into the Beta Sigma Kappa honor fraternity for academic excellence. Dr. Gustafson is therapeutically licensed in the state of Illinois to treat eye diseases including glaucoma. His office was selected as a Nikon Beta Site for advanced eye care technologies. He has been published in Optometric journals and has given seminars to colleagues regarding Eye care Technology and new diagnostic procedures. He currently resides with his wife Jennifer and two children in Lake Zurich, Illinois. He enjoys playing tennis, boating, and flying as an instrument rated private pilot in his spare time. |
Dr. Mark Buranosky
Ophthalmologist
Dr. Mark Buranosky is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in corneal and refractive surgery. He is a graduate of Duke University and graduated in the top ten percent of his medical school class at the University of Illinois. Following his residency in ophthalmology, he completed a one year fellowship in corneal and refractive surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Buranosky is an experienced refractive surgeon performing Wavefront LASIK, PRK, Corneal transplant and Cataract proceedures. |
Dr. Buranosky served as an investigator in clinical trials of the Excimer Laser. Dr. Buranosky resides with his wife and three children in Deerfield, Illinois.
Dr. Rachel Hutchins
Optometrist
Dr. Rachel Hutchins-Bocinsky received her bachelor’s degree from Loras College in 2004. She graduated Magna cum Laude from the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Hutchins is originally from Iowa but relocated to the Northwest suburbs several years ago. She gained exceptional experience when she joined a large multi-doctor private practice in Iowa City, IA after graduation. After moving to the Chicago suburbs, she continued working in the private practice setting because she enjoys the variety that private practice offers, including management of ocular disease and urgent care visits, as well as routine annual glasses and contact lens exams. While not at the office Dr. Hutchins enjoys spending time with friends and family. |
Dr. Kelly Oliver
Optometrist
Dr. Kelly Oliver earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Loras College. There, she worked at a local optometry office where she discovered her true passion for optometry. Dr. Oliver then began studies at the Illinois College of Optometry where she graduated with honors. Dr. Oliver is currently a member of both the Illinois Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She also completed mission work in Costa Rica where she treated over 1,000 underprivileged patients. Dr. Oliver has also had the opportunity to practice side by side with several successful optometrists and ophthalmologists in a number of different specialties including ocular disease, traumatic brain injuries, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and dry eyes. Dr. Oliver was recently interviewed for an ABC 7 New Special Report outlining the importance of pediatric examinations and how vision impacts performance in the classroom. |
Dry eyes is one of the most common conditions we see in eye care. Dr. Oliver has spearheaded our Dry Eye Clinic investing in diagnostic and treatment options not found elsewhere. This specialized equipment and technology at our office helps her stay at the "cutting-edge" of dry eye treatment, assuring our patients that they are receiving the very best care possible. She is also certified in the use of non-surgical cosmetic technologies such as the "Subnovii" Plasma Fibroblast Pen that stimulates collagen production helping loose and aging skin as well as wrinkles around the eyes.
Dr. Oliver and her family reside in Lake County. She has lived in the area her entire life. Dr. Oliver see patients every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday.
